Coomera Anglican College is a dynamic, future-focused college located in the northern reaches of the Gold Coast. Since opening in 1997 the college has grown immensely and currently supports over 1500 students and 250 staff from early learning through to Senior Secondary.
The Issue
Coomera Anglican College is continuing to grow as a college and needed to be more flexible and agile with their college-wide and emergency communication. The old analog PA and school management systems no longer met their demands. The staff couldn’t isolate sections of the school and were limited to making announcements to either the primary or secondary campus.
With the rate of growth Coomera Anglican College has seen since opening, they needed a digital system that was more reliable and offered more flexibility. They wanted more dynamic technology that enabled them to set up templates to make regular changes quick and easy.
Why FrontRow?
FrontRow’s solution delivered on Coomera Anglican College’s requirements and matched with their emergency plan. The college had just reviewed their emergency evacuation plans and had created zones for each part of the campus. FrontRow’s Conductor software allowed the school to create zones they could isolate for messaging, announcements, and alarms.
Coomera Anglican College also had specific requirements that were met with FrontRow. They needed strobe lights in the soundproof music rooms so that students never missed an alarm and panic alarms in their main receptions to alert key personnel in an emergency. With our solution, the college was able to install both products and incorporate them into one networked system. They have more control and can manage the devices quickly and easily through Conductor.

The Results
FrontRow has not only met Coomera Anglican College’s communication requirements but continues to deliver the flexibility they needed in a school management system. They have been able to set up templates to schedule bells and quickly make changes when necessary — such as when interschool sport starts.
Coomera Anglican College teams with a third party company to develop its emergency plans and procedures. They will often make random visits to test their evacuation procedure and ensure everything works effectively. Mr Hall said testing FrontRow as part of their system has been excellent, “Every announcement has been heard throughout the college, the alarms have always gone off, and everyone can see or hear the alarms — it’s been very successful”.
